June to September 2025 Edition Recent & Upcoming Events Recap of Recent AWRA-WA Lunch Meetings Big thanks to our recent virtual lunch meeting speakers and to those of you who tuned into their online presentations!
If you missed either presentation or would like to watch them again, recordings of Noah’s Legislative Update and Caroline’s Drought Update are now available online via the embedded links. Upcoming Fall AWRA-WA Events The recently restarted AWRA-UW student chapter is organizing a tour of the King County West Point Treatment Plant in Seattle on October 3rd. The tour is only available to students at this time due to limited capacity. If you are a UW student and interested in attending, please contact Alessandro Martinez for more information. Soon after on October 14th, the Annual State Section Conference will be kicking off at the Mountaineers Seattle Program Center. This year’s conference is centered around improving water resources management and incorporating past management decisions, competing demands, and a changing climate. Head over the conference event page to find more details and register now for the best rates. We have a number of other events in the works for this fall with dates and details coming soon! In early November, the Washington Section and CWU student chapter will be co-hosting a fall dinner meeting in Ellensburg. Later that month, AWRA-WA will be partnering the UW student chapter to host a speaker panel event on the UW Seattle Campus. And then in early December, the Washington section will hold its Annual Dinner Meeting in the Seattle area with board elections, membership updates, dinner, and a water resources presentation to close out 2025. Keep an eye out for save-the-date announcements and registration information in the coming weeks. Is there an event you’d like to see AWRA-WA organize? Do you have a water resources topic you want to present? Are you interested in hosting a field tour? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please reach out to our Events Committee Co-Chairs, Colin Butler and Noah Wentzel, and we’ll be happy to work with you to make it happen. |
